Job Brief:
The Admissions & Finance Officer is responsible for supporting student admissions activities while primarily managing finance operations including fee collections, financial records, reporting, budgeting support, and communication with students and parents regarding payments and accounts. The officer will ensure accurate, transparent, and professional financial and administrative services.
Key Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect fees and other university payments accurately and efficiently.
- Issue official receipts and maintain proper cash collection records.
- Update student financial accounts, balances, and payment history in the system.
- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial collection reports.
- Reconcile cash collections with receipts and banking deposits.
- Follow up with students and parents regarding outstanding balances, overdue fees, and payment reminders professionally.
- Explain tuition fee structures, installment plans, scholarships, discounts, and payment deadlines to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and supporting documents.
- Assist in budget preparation, expense tracking, and petty cash management.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required financial documents and reports.
- Coordinate with the Accounting Department regarding student payments and account updates.
- Ensure compliance with university financial policies, controls, and procedures.
- Receive and process student admission applications when required.
- Guide students on admission procedures, registration, and enrollment processes.
- Respond to inquiries through phone, email, and walk-in visits professionally.
Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic knowledge of accounting and cash handling procedures.
- Good numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent with Excel skills.
- Honest, trustworthy, and responsible.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
